Warner has unveiled a new date and specs for 'Beetlejuice,' which will now hit Blu-ray in early October and include Dolby TrueHD audio and exclusive extras.
As previously reported, Warner first announced a September 16 Blu-ray release for the Tim Burton classic, timed to coincide with a new 20th Anniversary DVD re-issue.
High-def fans will now have to wait an extra three weeks, however, with Warner pushing the Blu-ray back to October 7 (the DVD remains as scheduled.)
Updated specs for the Blu-ray will see a BD-25 single-layer presentation with 1080p/VC-1 video (1.85:1) and a first-ever Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround remix.
Previously announced extras include three bonus episodes of the 'Beetlejuice' cartoon series running over thirty minutes ("A-Ha," "Skeletons In The Closet," "Spooky Boo-tique"), plus the original theatrical trailer.
Newly-added to the Blu-ray will be a collectible booklet entitled "The Beginner's Guide to Seeing Ghosts" which includes production notes, photos and more, plus a CD soundtrack sampler with six songs by composer Danny Elfman.
As previously announced, suggested retail price for the Blu-ray has been set at $28.95.
