Ending months of speculation, Warner Home Video has at last announced that the 'Harry Potter' franchise will be coming to HD DVD and Blu-ray this fall in a lavish multi-disc box set.
Dubbed 'Harry Potter Years 1-5 Limited Edition Gift Set,' Warner revealed plans for the long-awaited release during a special presentation today at the Home Media Expo in Las Vegas.
Though the studio did not provide an exact street date, they did confirm that the release would include all five of the produced 'Harry Potter' films, including the current theatrical hit 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.'
Pricing for the five-disc set will be $149.95 for both the Blu-ray and HD DVD versions.
No specs or supplemental details have been revealed, but the set is expected to come in collectible packaging including exclusive Harry Potter memorabilia.
The studio has also not revealed when -- or if -- the 'Potter' titles will also be made available individually outside of the box set.
Considered one of the many "holy grails" yet to hit high-def, 'Harry Potter Years 1-5' is sure to be one of the holiday's most highly-anticipated titles, if not its biggest seller.
We'll certainly keep you posted as soon as further details are officially announced.
