'American Carol' Coming to Blu-ray

Posted Nov 14, 2008 at 10:00 AM PST by Peter Bracke

Red state comedy is coming to Blu-ray, with Vivendi Visual Entertainment announcing a January street date for the satire 'An American Carol.'

Directed by 'Airplane!' auteur David Zucker and starring Leslie Nielsen, Kelsey Grammer, and Kevin Farley, the right-leaning comedy takes aim at Hollywood liberalism via a lighthearted remake of 'A Christmas Carol.'

Vivendi has alerted retailers that it will debut the Blu-ray on January 6, day-and-date with the standard DVD.

There are no tech or supplement specs confirmed as of yet, but as always, watch this space.

Suggested retail for the Blu-ray has been set at $34.99.

You'll find preliminary specs for 'An American Carol' linked from our Blu-ray Release Schedule, where it's indexed under January 6.
