Universal has officially unveiled final specs for 'The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor' which hits Blu-ray this December as a two-disc set with exclusive content.
As we've previously reported, the studio alerted retailers to a December 16 Blu-ray date for the $100 million--plus grossing sequel, though the studio provided only preliminary specs.
The full details have now been confirmed, with the studio planning a two-disc set with U-Control and BD-Live exclusives.
Extras will feature audio commentary with director Rob Cohen, a suite of featurettes ("The Making of The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor," "From City to Desert," "Legacy of the Terra Cotta," "A Call to Action: The Casting Process," "Preparing for Battle with Brendan Fraser and Jet Li," "Jet Li: Crafting the Emperor Mummy," "Creating New and Supernatural Worlds"), deleted and extended scenes, and a Digital Copy of the film.
Exclusive include U-Control extras "Scene Explorer," "Know Your Mummy," "The Dragon Emperor's Challenge" and a picture-in-picture track. The set will also be BD-Live enabled, with "My Scenes Sharing" and additional exclusive content.
Tech specs for the BD-50 dual-layer presentation enjoy 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video, a DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround track (48kHz/16-bit), and additional Dolby Digital and subtitle offerings in English, French, and Spanish.
Universal is also planning to bring a 'Mummy' 3-pack to high-def on the same day, which will include 'Tomb of the Dragon Emperor' plus the previously-released Blu-rays of the first two installments in the series, 'The Mummy' and 'The Mummy Returns.' The discs are identical to the released versions, and there are no new collectibles or other value-added content.
As announced, suggested list price for 'The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor' has been set at $39.98, and $89.98 for the 3-Pack.
You'll find the latest specs for both 'Mummy' releases linked from our Blu-ray Release Schedule, where they're indexed under December 16.
