'Miami Vice' Coming to Blu-ray

Universal will increase its growing line-up of Blu-ray catalog titles when it brings Michael Mann's 'Miami Vice' to the format this August.

Mann's big-screen update of his classic '80s television show (which grossed a disappointing $65 million at the domestic box office) will hit Blu-ray on August 26, over a year after it was first released on HD DVD.

Presented in an Unrated Director's Cut featuring seven minutes of footage not seen in the theaters, tech specs include a BD-50 dual-layer disc with 1080p video and a DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround track.

Replicating the previous HD DVD, extras include a suite of featurettes ("Behind the Scenes," "Miami Vice Undercover," "Miami & Beyond: Shooting On Location," "Visualizing Miami Vice") and an audio commentary with Mann.

Exclusive next-gen features include a picture-in-picture commentary (Bonus View-enabled), plus the ability for "GPS tracking" of vehicles in the film, an on-the-fly still gallery and cast bios.

Suggested list price for the Blu-ray has been set at $29.98.
