One of the '80s most beloved cult classics is headed to Blu-ray, with Universal setting an early-August touchdown for 'The Last Starfighter.'
Released on HD DVD in early 2007, the sci-fi/videogame adventure will make its belated Blu-ray debut on August 4.
Tech specs will see a BD-50 dual-layer disc with 1080p video (1.85:1) and a DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround track.
Extras match the previous HD DVD and DVD special edition versions, including audio commentary (with director Nick Castle and production designer Ron Cobb), a retrospective featurette, still gallery and the theatrical trailer).
The disc will also come BD-Live-enabled, though at presstime no exclusive content has been announced.
Suggested retail price for the Blu-ray has been set at $29.98.
