The idea is to give you a discount on future DLC with the caveat that you have to pay up front.
If you're a die-hard 'Assassin's Creed' fan and you absolutely know that you're going to delve into 'Assassin's Creed 3' and all its DLC then you may be in luck. Rumor has it Ubisoft is going to give players the option of purchasing a Season Pass which would give you future DLC at a nice low price.
The Season Pass is a relatively new concept to gaming, but it's one that could prove a benefit to both game makers and fans alike. For fans, a discount on something they'll be buying anyway is a great setup, and publishers get a little extra cash and the ability to sell future DLC on launch day – the single biggest day for DLC purchases.
