'The Assassins' Blu-ray Announced and Detailed

The 2012 action-adventure featuring legendary action hero Chow Yun-Fat ('Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon') is planned for Blu-ray in January.

In an early announcement to retailers, Well Go USA is prepping 'The Assassins' for a Blu-ray release on January 8.

Also starring Yifei Liu ('White Vengeance') and Hiroshi Tamaki ('Heavenly Forest'), the lavish historical action drama is set in the Three Kingdoms period of Chinese history and focuses on Han Dynasty warlord Cao Cao (Chow Yun-Fat) in his latter years, as he explores the areas of military tactics, love, and the relationship between father and son.

The Blu-ray will feature 1080p video, a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, and supplements include a behind-the-scenes featurette and trailer.

Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $29.98.
