DirecTV's Everywhere streaming service is getting more channels and an updated app.
DirecTV has announced an upcoming expansion to its DirecTV Everywhere service. The streaming utility will now bring more than 30 live out-of-home channels and 100 live in-home channels to its users.
"We've significantly expanded DIRECTV Everywhere to meet the needs of our customers who want a seamless and consistent way to access programming they want, across as many platforms as possible, without any restrictions," said Tony Goncalves, senior vice president, Digital Entertainment Products, DIRECTV. "We were the first provider to launch an out-of-home streaming service and will continue to work with partners to give our customers even more convenience, choice and value. It is essential that we align with our programing partners to ensure we can deliver high-quality content with the immediacy consumers expect."
The updated DirecTV Everywhere will now offer live out-of-home streaming support for many popular channels, including HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, The Movie Channel, STARZ, ENCORE, Travel Channel, and Food Network. In addition, the company is upgrading its Android tablet app to bring support for live and on demand content to all screen sizes and a variety of operating systems. Finally, DirecTV is also adding more on demand media to its website, offering a selection of more than 19,000 titles.
The DirecTV Everywhere expansion will launch on November 21.
