The ultra-violent series will be getting two all-new Blu-ray editions this September.
In an early announcement to retailers, Starz/Anchor Bay is working on 'Spartacus: The Complete Series' for Blu-ray on September 16.
Spartacus tells the classic tale of the Republic's most infamous rebel, who comes alive in the series' first season, Blood and Sand. Then comes Gods of the Arena, a prequel that explores a deadly history before the arrival of Spartacus, and the death he now carries with him. The second season, Vengeance, continues to follow Spartacus as he is faced with a choice to either satisfy his personal need for vengeance, or make the sacrifices necessary to keep his growing army from breaking apart at the seams. Finally, in War of the Damned, Spartacus carves his name into history as he plots to avenge his wife's death and leads Batiatus' slaves in a bloody uprising that will not be forgotten or equaled. All four seasons are currently available on Blu-ray.
"The gods finally bless us with the complete collection," says creator and executive producer Steven S. DeKnight. "Spartacus was a true labor of love for everyone who worked on it and I'm incredibly proud to present all 39 episodes in stunning high-def for the fans to enjoy at their leisure." Adding, "But make sure you watch them in the order they first aired to revel in the experience as originally intended."
The Blu-ray sets will feature 1080p video, a lossless 5.1 soundtrack, and new supplements include: Three New Season One Audio Commentaries, Spartacus Fan Favorites With Liam McIntyre, Scoring A Hit: Composer Joseph LoDuca, An Eye Full: Roger Murray, Spartacus: Paul Grinder, and The Last Word: John Hannah.
A Collector's Set will also be available that includes a limited edition Spartacus figurine.
Suggested list price for the standard Blu-ray Edition is $149.99, while the Collector's Edition is $199.99.
