New info has been unveiled for the upcoming Star Wars theme park at Walt Disney World and Disneyland.
Disney has announced that legendary composer, John Williams, is putting together new and original Star Wars music for the studio's forthcoming Star Wars-themed land set to open at its amusement parks in California and Florida. In addition, the company has also shed new light on two of the project's attractions.
Dubbed Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, the upcoming theme park expansion is scheduled to open at Disneyland in summer 2019 (check out our prediction on exactly when HERE) and Walt Disney World in fall 2019. The land and its various rides and attractions will allow visitors to "become galactic travelers and live their own Star Wars stories in a galaxy far, far away." Likewise, in addition to the land itself, Disney is also building a complementary Star Wars-themed resort, offering a "fully-immersive, multi-day Star Wars adventure aboard a luxury starship complete with high-end dining, space-view cabins, and exciting action."
And thankfully that experience won't be without John Williams' iconic music. Check out a preview of the composer at work on music for Galaxy's Edge along with shots of the park's construction below!
Meanwhile, Disney has also revealed new details and titles for two of the park's attractions. The first ride is called Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, and will place guests behind the controls of the famed ship that "made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs." As part of the attraction, visitors can participate in one of three unique flight crew roles.
Check out a short preview below!
Finally, the second ride is called Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. This attraction is designed to thrust guests into an epic battle between the Resistance and the First Order.
Check out a quick teaser below!
Beyond the rides and resort, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will also allow fans to stop by a street market in Black Spire Outpost, try franchise delicacies like blue milk, visit the Cantina, and more -- all while interacting with various creatures and characters from the Star Wars universe.
