HDCP off option due in the coming weeks.

Today, Sony shared some details regarding upcoming planned updates for the PS4. Theses updates all fall within the realm of the system's social features, specifically sharing video, screenshots, and live streaming. All of these updates are being described as a direct response to fan feedback.

The update will add a "rich video editor" for personalizing video clips. A USB drive will now be a supported export option for videos and screenshots. The system will now have a HDCP off option to facilitate HDMI gameplay capture. Gamers will even be able to record and share longer clips with the on-board Share system.

Beyond this update, which is due in the "coming weeks," Sony is working with its partners on some updates for the Twitch and Ustream PS4 components. The goal is to add the ability to archive Twitch broadcasts and the ability to broadcast in 720p.
