In a rare instance of a next-gen title being released ahead of schedule, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has pushed up the street date of the 'Warriors of Heaven and Earth' Blu-ray by one week.
The epic Asian adventure film was originally announced for Blu-ray release on April 3. But Sony has now quietly moved the date to today, March 27, without notice.
We don't know why the studio decided to release the title a week early, but we are not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. Most online retailers have also already started shipping the title to consumers, so those who pre-ordered the release should find a surprise in their mailbox shortly.
The disc's specs remain unchanged, with 'Warriors of Heaven and Earth' featuring a 1080p transfer, uncompressed PCM 5.1 surround mix, and two featurettes. Retail is $28.95.
We've noted the street date change in our complete Blu-ray Release Schedule. We've also received our copy for coverage, so watch for a full review in the days ahead.
