Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced it will bring Paul Verhoeven's acclaimed drama 'Black Book' to Blu-ray this September.
Critics raved about a "return to form" for Verhoeven with 'Black Book,' his fictionalized tale of a Jewish cabaret singer who infiltrates Hitler's Gestapo to fight for the Dutch resistance.
Due to hit Blu-ray on September 25, day-and-date with the standard-def DVD version, Sony has not yet announced specs for the release. However, if past precedent is anything to go by, expect a 1080p transfer and uncompressed PCM soundtrack, plus some if not all of the same supplements as the standard-def edition
Sony has set a $38.95 list price for the Blu-ray.
We've added a new listing for 'Black Book' to our Blu-ray Release Schedule, under September 25. Watch for further details to emerge in the days ahead.
