A new survey reveals just how much American consumers are willing to spend on gifts this holiday season and what items they are most likely to spend that cash on.
According to a new survey of more than 1000 Americans conducted by Ebiquity and LG, 58 percent of consumers are likely to give televisions as a gift. The survey also reveals a few more interesting bits about consumers' buying and gifting habits for the 2013 holiday season.
39 percent of consumers are willing to spend more than $1000 on a single gift, and 50 percent are likely to share the price of gifts more expensive than $545. Perhaps most telling of all though, is the fact that 52 percent of Americans said that they would rather receive an 84-inch 4K smart TV over an equivalently priced piece of jewelery or a watch. That number dropped a bit when consumers were asked to choose between a smart TV and a trip to Europe, however, with 42 percent opting for a TV.
Below is an infographic detailing more of the results.
