Several new 4K players, sound bars, and speakers have been announced.
Samsung has revealed its latest collection of Ultra HD Blu-ray players and home audio devices. The upcoming lineup is comprised of the UBD-N8500 & UBD-N7500 Ultra HD Blu-ray players, the VL5 & VL3 smart speakers, and a wide assortment of sound bar models, including two with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support.
The UBD-N8500 & UBD-N7500 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray players will both feature support for 4K disc playback with wide colors, HDR10, and the new HDR10+ dynamic HDR format. In addition, both devices will offer a contrast enhancement feature, along with Samsung's Smart Hub, HD audio support (192kHz/24bit), and 360 video playback. The N7500 model will be Ethernet only and is set to include one HDMI port. Meanwhile, the step-up N8500 model will add dual HDMI ports, Wi-Fi connectivity, a Personalized UI feature, and support for live broadcasting services like Sling TV, YouTube TV, and Hulu.
Outside of Blu-ray players, Samsung also announced its new VL5 & VL3 smart Hi-Fi speakers. The VL5 is a larger size single speaker model while the VL3 is a smaller model that can be paired with an additional unit for stereo playback. Both speakers were designed in California, developed in Korea, and finished in Europe with tuning from audio company AKG who specialize in high-end headphones. The units are set to include a portable volume dial that can placed on the speaker or taken anywhere with a user. Likewise, both speakers offer patented distortion canceling analysis and support for the SmartThings app.
Finally, the Samsung detailed its upcoming sound bar lineup as well. The collection will include one-body models with integrated woofers and models with separate subwoofers. The one-body collection will feature the entry-level 2 channel N300 sound bar, the step-up 2 channel N400 sound bar, the 2 channel MS550 Sound+ sound bar, and the previously detailed premium 3 channel NW700 Sound+ sound bar. The Sound+ models will include distortion canceling tech and the option to add wireless subs and/or rears. Meanwhile, new sound bar systems with separate subwoofers will include the 2.1 channel N450, 3.1 channel N550, and 3.1 channel N650. In addition, Samsung has also revealed the new N850 5.1.2 sound bar and the N950 7.1.4 sound bar with side-firing and up-firing drivers for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support. The N950 system includes separate up-firing rear speakers and users can add rear speakers to the N850 to create a 7.1.2 system.
Exact pricing and availability for Samsung's new 4K Blu-ray players, smart speakers, and sound bars have not been detailed yet.
