One of the best deals in media streaming just got better.
What's not to love about Roku's media player line? Roku players work well, don't take up a lot of space, and they're cheap. They've only gotten better as a "value for the money" proposition, since Roku just dropped the prices on all players by a whopping $30.
That means that the Roku HD-XR – which packs built in 802.11n Wi-Fi capabilities – is now just $99. If you don't need a wireless solution, the Roku HD comes in at just $69. Those who favor a standard definition solution can pick up the Roku SD for a mere $59.
The Roku HD-XR was already one of the best options for Netflix streaming, and the price drop makes it even nicer.
It's almost certain that this deal was designed to hit just before Apple's rumored announcement of the new Apple TV. Whatever the reason, this pricing strategy is a big win for consumers.
