"Here at Reef we are huge fans of 1984 & 1991 Sci-Fi action master-pieces."
Reef Entertainment, the UK based developer already hard at work making a game based off of the Rambo films, has acquired the console video game rights to 'The Terminator' and 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day.' The deal results from ongoing business between Reef Entertainment and StudioCanal. With the deal in place development can move forward on 'Terminators: the Video Game.'
From Reef, "Here at Reef we are huge fans of 1984 & 1991 Sci-Fi action master-pieces. It's an incredible opportunity and an equally huge responsibility to create a game that does great justice to the motion-pictures. We are studying all aspects and influences of the Terminator universe defined in Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day. We have started on our journey and are drawing on all the diverse materials available to produce a high quality, authentic and exciting Terminator video game."
With the exception of the arcade shooter, it is safe to say that the 'Terminator' property has never received a memorable game. Reef Entertainment's shipped games such as the 'Rogue Trooper: Quartz Massacre' and 'Liquidator' have likewise eluded the spotlight. In 2010, the direction of Reef Entertainment changed dramatically when Creative Distribution acquired a majority share. Perhaps the release of 'Rambo: The Video Game' will shed more light on 'Terminators: the Video Game.'
