Entry level projector sales are leading the charge.
2006 was a good year for projectors. They were at their peak. Nearly $500 million worth of projectors were sold, which is considerably more than were sold in2009 – just $288 million.
But 2010 sees projectors on the rise after a few years of slumping sales. In the first quarter of the year, over $72 million worth of projectors have been sold. That's a $10 million improvement over the first quarter of 2009.
It's a 17 percent increase financially, but the more interesting statistic is that 50 percent more projectors were sold in the first quarter of 2010 than in the same part of 2009. That means that there's been an upturn in the sales of lower priced entry level projectors.
