A new premium 4K Blu-ray player has been detailed.
To coincide with this week's CEDIA 2018 tradeshow in San Diego, Pioneer has announced its new ELITE UDP-LX500 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Player. The device will be on display at the company's booth from September 4 to September 8.
"The UDP-LX500 offers a variety of integration-friendly features. For connection flexibility, two HDMI outputs are onboard, allowing for a direct video connection to the display input of your choice, while still delivering Hi-Res sound to your AVR using the dedicated 'Audio-Only' HDMI output," said Rob Vieira, Product Planning & Training Manager. "One of the unit's distinct advantages is its ability to calibrate the display’s input specifically for the UHD player for optimal video performance. On the control side of things, two-way RS-232 and IP control allows for enhanced driver options via major control system partners such as Control4 and Crestron."
Pioneer's UDP-LX500 offers 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray playback with HDR10 and Dolby Vision capabilities, along with regular Blu-ray, DVD, SACD, and audio CD support. Likewise, the device features automatic SDR/HDR presets and separate video parameters for "Reference," "LCD TV,” "OLED TV," or "Projector" to better suit video quality to a user's specific display type. Connectivity options include two HDMI outputs, a coaxial output, a digital optical output, 2-channel analog out, and an Ethernet port.
In addition, the player uses a low resonance chassis design to provide high-quality signal transmission with a 6-layered main circuit board for high S/N ratio. Meanwhile, the 1.6 mm-thick chassis base is also reinforced with a 3 mm-thick steel plate, resulting in reduced vibrations. Finally, the unit also includes advanced audio features like Pioneer’s PQLS (Precision Quartz Lock System) for superior digital-to-analog conversion.
Exact availability has not been announced yet, but the Pioneer ELITE UDP-LX500 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Player will carry an MSRP of $1,099.
