Pioneer Reveals SC-1222 and SC-1522 Receivers

The 9.2 Channel 1522 also boasts THX Select 2 Plus certification.

Two new high-end receivers have been announced by Pioneer – the 7.2 channel SC-1222 and the 9.2 channel SC-1522. Both give you AirPlay, Advanced MCACC room calibration, and streaming options that include internet radio, Pandora, and even Bluetooth.

While you can reap the benefits of Marvell Qdeo video processing and upscaling, only the SC-1522 offers 4K passthrough. The 1522 also allows you to set up to ten custom configurations and the ability to utilize Zone 2 and Zone 3 with a dedicated subwoofer output to Zone 2.

Both receivers are controllable by Pioneer's iControlAV2012 app for iOS devices, which allows you to play with a great deal of very nitty-gritty sound adjustments.

The SC-1222 will cost you $1,099 while you'll need to shell out $1,599 for the SC-1522.
