Paramount to Spin 'Arctic Tale' on Blu-ray

Get ready for cute and cuddly polar bears in high-def when Paramount brings the acclaimed nature documentary 'Arctic Tale' to Blu-ray in April.

From the makers of the Oscar-winning 'March of the Penguins,' and narrated by Queen Latifah, 'Arctic Tale' tells two parallel stories of maternal survival -- one of a polar bear making a cross-continent trek with her cubs, and the other of a mother walrus caring for her brood.

Though 'Arctic Tale' didn't set the box office alight the way 'Penguins' did, Paramount will debut the family-friendly doc on Blu-ray in time for the Spring thaw, with a April 21 release date. (The studio previously-issued the title on both HD DVD and standard DVD in late 2007.)

Tech specs for the Blu-ray include 1080p video and English Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround audio.

Extras boast the "Making of 'Arctic Tale'" featurette, the "Are We There Yet? World Adventure: Polar Bear Spotting" feature, and the film's original theatrical trailer.

Suggested retail price for the Blu-ray has been set at $34.95.
