Students will be able to specialize in a wide range of fields, including design, programming and criticism.
The folks over at New York University have expanded the NYU Game Center program to include a Master of Fine Arts degree starting in the fall of 2012. This two year program will include studies on game design, programming, visual design and criticism.
"Games are the defining cultural form of this century," says Frank Lantz, director of the program, "and the NYU Game Center MFA is dedicated to exploring their potential." Also joining him in running the program are Katherine Isbister, Jesper Juul and Eric Zimmerman.
The program offers, in addition to the education itself, exhibitions, tournaments and lectures outside of your normal classes. They also house what NYU calls "one of the world’s largest collections of videogames."
