Though the deal gave Netflix access to plenty of titles, the 28 day release window stands firm.
A new deal just went down between Netflix and Warner Bros that expands the availability of shows for Netflix to stream. The new shows include 'Nip/Tuck,' 'Veronica Mars,' 'Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles' and others.
It's a lot of new content, and of course, Netflix will continue to have streaming rights to all the Warner Bros movies and shows that they're currently streaming. 'Nip/Tuck' will also be airing on Logo, which could be seen as a bit of a test for the format. "Consumers now have the ability to choose how they enjoy 'Nip/Tuck," says Warner Bros president Ken Werner, "either streamed instantly from Netflix or in a more traditional linear fashion."
The one thing that hasn’t changed, sadly, is that truly obnoxious 28 day release window that keeps new release Blu-rays from getting to your doorstep.
