'Girlfriend Experience' Coming to Blu-ray

Steven Soderbergh is bringing 'The Girlfriend Experience' to high-def, setting an early-September Blu-ray debut for the controversial adult drama.

Marking the second production in Soderbergh's trend-setting distribution deal with technology pioneer Mark Cuban, which will see the Oscar-winning helmer write and direct six shot-on HD films that will receive a simultaneous release in theaters and on Cuban's HDNet cable channel, 'The Girlfriend Experience' follows the little-seen 'Bubble,' which hit screens last year to little fanfare.

The box office forecast for 'Girlfriend Experience' may be brighter, as the drama has already generated considerable pre-release buzz, as it stars adult cinema sensation Sasha Grey, and sports the memorable tagline, "See it with someone you f***."

Hitting theaters and HDNet this month, the Blu-ray will arrive later this Fall when Magnolia Home Entertainment releases the Blu-ray September 2, day-and-date with the standard DVD.

No tech or supplement specs are available yet, but we'll keep you posted.

Suggested retail price for the Blu-ray has been set at $34.98.
