Several more media services are now available through the streaming dongle.
Google has announced the addition of several apps for the Chromecast. The latest collection of services includes CBS All Access, Fox Now, FXNow, HGTV, Pluto TV, and Haystack.
CBS All Access is a stand-alone subscription streaming service that offers next-day streaming for new episodes of 15 popular shows and a library of 6,500 on-demand episodes, including content from current programs like 'The Good Wife' and 'NCIS,' and classic series like 'The Andy Griffith Show' and 'I Love Lucy.' Likewise, customers will be able to watch live local CBS broadcasts through the service in a growing number of markets. Meanwhile, Fox Now, FXNow, and HGTV Watch allow users to stream on-demand content from each network. Finally, Pluto TV includes over 100 curated channels of news, music, sports, web and TV shows, and Haystack is a news app that keeps users informed about current and global events.
CBS All Access currently costs $6 per month. New users will receive a one-week free trial. The Chromecast is now on sale for $29.
