Due in stores October 10, Warner will debut both 'Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory' and its 2005 remake 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,' plus 'Tim Burton's Corpse Bride,' on HD DVD; 'Syriana' and '16 Blocks' will also see their Blu-ray premieres the same day.
These five titles will join 'Batman Begins' and 'The Polar Express,' which were announced last week for HD DVD release as well on October 10.
All seven titles will be presented in 1080p/VC-1 video, and include 640kbps Dolby Digital 5.1 surround tracks (labeled Dolby Digital-Plus on HD DVD). Extras will be identical to their standard DVD counterparts regardless of format, and both 'Batman Begins' and 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' will also boast Warner's "In-Movie Experience" interactive feature exclusive to the HD DVD releases.
Warner has set a suggested list price of $28.99 each for the HD DVD releases, and $34.99 for the Blu-ray.
Full specs for all seven titles have been added to our HD DVD Release Schedule and Blu-ray Release Schedule. Stay tuned for cover art in the coming days.
