"Now the story of a family that wants to rule the galaxy and the one son who had no choice but to save it."
In anticipation for the upcoming premiere of Solo: A Star Wars Story, Disney and Lucasfilm have released an amusing parody clip that recaps the plot of Star Wars: A New Hope in the style of Arrested Development -- complete with voice over narration by Solo director Ron Howard.
The playful sketch features clips from Episode IV while Howard offers a snarky rundown of the film's story as his narrator persona from Arrested Development, trading in the dysfunctional Bluth family for the Skywalker clan and their equally complicated dynamics. A pitch-perfect mashup of both franchises, the video includes a few fun references to running jokes from Arrested Development, giving fans one more lesson on the importance of always leaving a note. Check out the clip below!
In addition to narrator duties, Ron Howard also serves as the director of Solo: A Star Wars Story which is set to hit theaters on May 25. The film comes from a script written by Jon Kasdan & Lawrence Kasdan, and stars Alden Ehrenreich as a younger version of the iconic smuggler first made famous by Harrison Ford in the original trilogy. Additional cast members include Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca, Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, Woody Harrelson, and Paul Bettany.
Meanwhile, a fifth season of Arrested Development is expected to arrive on Netflix very soon. Likewise, a remixed version of the show's fourth season will premiere through the streaming service on May 4. The new edition has been recut from the original 15 individualized stories into 22 interwoven episodes with all of the Bluths in each installment as the plot plays out in chronological order, potentially offering a fresh perspective and new jokes.
