A 20th Anniversary double dip of Andrew Davis' crime thriller is planned for Blu-ray in September.
In an early announcement to retailers, Warner Brothers is preparing 'The Fugitive: 20th Anniversary Edition' starring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones for Blu-ray on September 3.
Unjustly accused and found guilty of murdering his wife (Sela Ward), former Chicago surgeon Dr. Richard Kimble (Ford) escapes from custody and races to uncover the identity of the real killer and the reasons for his wife's death, all while being the target of a nationwide manhunt led by tenacious United States Deputy Marshal Sam Gerard (Jones). Based on the classic 1960s television series of the same name, The Fugitive garnered seven Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, and earned Tommy Lee Jones a Best Supporting Actor Oscar and Golden Globe. In 2001, The American Film Institute also listed it as one of the "100 Most Thrilling" American films.
It's currently unclear if this release will be sporting a new transfer, however supplements will include: Introduction by Andrew Davis and Harrison Ford; Commentary by Andrew Davis and Tommy Lee Jones; On the Run with the Fugitive Behind-the-Scenes Featurette; Derailed: Anatomy of a Train Wreck Behind-the-Scenes Featurette; and Theatrical Trailer.
New items will include The Fugitive: Thrill of the Chase featuring Andrew Davis, Harrison Ford, Tommy Lee Jones and more; and “The Fugitive"([2000 WB Pilot).
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $19.98.
