Films starring Chadwick Boseman, Josh Gad, Margot Robbie, Domhnall Gleeson, and more are all heading to Blu-ray.
New info has been revealed for several upcoming Blu-ray releases from Sony, Universal, Kino, Shout Factory, Echo Bridge, 20th Century Fox, FilmRise, Code Red, and Arrow.
Here's a full rundown of recently revealed details and title announcements:
First up, Best Buy has announced new exclusive SteelBook releases for several Universal and Sony titles. The collection includes Despicable Me, Despicable Me 2, Despicable Me 3, Fury, Split, and The Resident Evil Collection. All six discs will be available on December 5. Supplements are expected to mirror those found on each previously released Blu-ray.
Echo Bridge Entertainment is set to bring Mauro Borrelli's The Recall starring RJ Mitte, Wesley Snipes, Jedidiah Goodacre, Niko Pepaj, Graham Shiels, and Vicellous Shannon to Blu-ray on December 26. Supplements have not been announced.
FilmRise is prepping Helene Hegemann's Axolotl Overkill starring Jasna Fritzi Bauer, Arly Jover, and Laura Tonke for Blu-ray on January 2. Supplements will include a trailer.
Universal is set to release Mike White's Brad's Status starring Ben Stiller, Austin Abrams, Jenna Fischer, Michael Sheen, Jemaine Clement, and Luke Wilson on January 2. Supplements will include:
- A Look at Ben Stiller as Brad - Featurette
- A Culture of Comparing Ourselves - Featurette
- Mike White on Directing His Own Script
- The Story of Brad's Status - Featurette
In addition, the studio is bringing Niall Johnson's The Stolen starring Emily Corcoran, Alice Eve, Graham McTavish, and Jack Davenport to Blu-ray on January 2 as well. Supplements will include a featurette.
And as previously reported, Universal is prepping Reginald Hudlin's Marshall starring Chadwick Boseman, Josh Gad, and Kate Hudson for Blu-ray, and now the release date has been announced for January 9. No special features are currently listed for the disc.
Code Red will release Umberto Lenzi's Seven Blood-Stained Orchids starring Antonio Sabato, Uschi Glas, Pier Paolo Capponi, Rossella Falk, and Marina Malfatti on January 2. The disc will feature a brand new transfer and supplements will include:
- Brand New Interview With Director Umberto Lenzi
- Brand New Audio Commentary By Film Historian Troy Howarth
- Vintage Interview With Umberto Lenzi And Gabriella Giorgelli
- Original Theatrical Trailer
Kino has announced plans to release Emeric Pressburger and Michael Powell's The Wild Heart starring Jennifer Jones, David Farrar, and Cyril Cusack on January 9. Supplements will include:
- Audio Commentary
- Trailer Gallery
In addition, the label is also prepping William A. Selter's A Lady Takes a Chance starring John Wayne and Jean Arthur for Blu-ray. Supplements and an exact release date have not been announced yet, but the release is expected to arrive in early 2018 and will be sourced from a new 4K remaster.
Shout Factory is preparing a Collector's Edition of Joe Dante's Matinee starring John Goodman, Cathy Moriarty, Simon Fenton, Omri Katz, and Kellie Martin for Blu-ray on January 9. The disc will feature a new 4K scan of the film taken from the best surviving archival print, and supplements will include:
- NEW "Master of the Matinee" – interview with director Joe Dante
- NEW "The Leading Lady" – an interview with Cathy Moriarty
- NEW "MANTastic!" The Making of a Mant
- NEW "Out of the Bunker" – an interview with actress Lisa Jakub
- NEW "Making a Monster Theatre" – an interview with production designer Steven Legler
- NEW "The Monster Mix" - an interview with editor Marshall Harvey
- NEW "Lights! Camera! Reunion!" – an interview with director of photography John Hora
- "Paranoia in Ant Vision" – Joe Dante discusses the making of the film
- MANT! – the full length version of the film with introduction by Joe Dante
- Vintage Making of Featurette

In addition, the label will release Alex Smith and Andrew J. Smith's Walking Out starring Matt Bomer, Bill Pullman, Alex Neustaedter, Josh Wiggins, Lily Gladstone, and Chaske Spencer on February 6. No other details have been announced at this time.
Likewise, Amando de Ossorio's Night of the Seasgulls starring Sandra Mozarowsky and Víctor Petit is being prepped for February 13. Supplements have not been revealed yet.
Meanwhile, Martin Rosen's The Plague Dogs starring John Hurt, Christopher Benjamin, and James Bolam has been postponed from its original February 13 release date. The delay has been made so that the label can work with the director to offer an extended cut. Supplements and a new release date have not been announced yet.
Arrow will release Dario Argento's The Cat o' Nine Tails starring Karl Malden and James Franciscus on January 9. The disc will feature a brand new 4K restoration of the film from the original camera negative; newly translated English subtitles for the Italian soundtrack; and supplements will include:
- Reversible sleeve featuring original and newly commissioned artwork by Candice Tripp
- Double-sided fold-out poster
- 4 lobby card reproductions
- New audio commentary by critics Alan Jones and Kim Newman
- New interviews with co-writer/director Dario Argento, co-writer Dardano Sacchetti, actress Cinzia De Carolis and production manager Angelo Iacono
- Script pages for the lost original ending, translated into English for the first time
- Limited edition booklet illustrated by Matt Griffin, featuring an essay on the film by Dario Argento, and new writing by Barry Forshaw, Troy Howarth and Howard Hughes
20th Century Fox is bringing Simon Curtis' Goodbye Christopher Robin starring Margot Robbie, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Macdonald, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Alex Lawther to Blu-ray on January 23. Supplements will include:
- Audio Commentary by Simon Curtis and Frank Cottrell-Boyce
- Promotional Featurettes
