'Hearat Shulayim' -- The Academy Award nominee for Best Foreign Language Film, is getting the Blu-ray treatment in July.
In an early announcement to retailers, Sony is working on 'Footnote' for Blu-ray on July 24.
The father, Eliezer (Shlomo Bar-Aba, Witness in the War Zone), is a stubborn purist who fears the establishment and has never been recognized for his work. His son, Uriel (Lior Ashkenazi, Walk on Water), is an up-and-coming star in the field, who appears to feed on accolades, endlessly seeking recognition. Then one day, the tables turn. When Eliezer learns that he is to be awarded the Israel Prize, the most valuable honor for scholarship in the country, his vanity and desperate need for validation are exposed. His son, Uriel, is thrilled to see his father's achievements finally recognized but, in a darkly funny twist, is forced to choose between the advancement of his own career and his father's.
The Blu-ray will feature 1080p video, a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, and supplements include Behind the Scenes of Joseph Cedar's Film Footnote and An Evening with Joseph Cedar.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $35.99.
