The original 1974 film will put the pedal to the metal on Blu-ray next week!
In an announcement to retailers, Anderson Merchandisers will bring 'Gone in 60 Seconds' to Blu-ray on October 16.
H.B. Halicki’s Original 'Gone in 60 Seconds' is the classic car theft film written, directed, and produced by H.B. (Toby) Halicki and starring Eleanor, the only Ford Mustang in history to receive starring credit in a movie! This movie was the template for all future car chase movies and takes us back to a time when chases and crashes were real—no CGI—just raw talent, great driving, and unflinching stunts Its legendary 40 minute chase scene is part of car chasing lore; USA Today calls it “One of the greatest car chase scenes in history.”
Specs have yet to be finalized, but supplements for the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack will include: The personal life and times of H.B. "Toby" Halicki, the Car Crash King; Intimate interview with Denice Halicki on the set of her filming the 2000 remake of Gone in 60 Seconds (starring Nicolas Cage & Angelina Jolie); Commentary from Jack Vacek (Director of Photography) & Warner Leighton (Editor); A rare interview with the "Father of the Ford Mustang," Lee Iacocca; and 3 additional featurettes "Cut to the Chase" including information about the real accidents caught on film!
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $20.99.
