'9' Announced for Blu-ray

The post-apocalyptic CGI animated feature is slated for high-definition at the end of the year.

Universal is bringing Shane Acker's '9' starring the voices of Christopher Plummer, Jennifer Connelly, Elijah Wood, and John C. Reilly to the Blu-ray format on December 29.

The Blu-ray will feature 1080p video, a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, and supplements will include a feature commentary with writer/director Shane Acker, animation director Joe Ksander, head of story Ryan O'Loughlin and editor Nick Kenway; 9 - The Long and the Short of It; On Tour with Shane Acker; The Look of 9; Acting Out; and 9 - The Original Short.

Exclusive Blu-ray features include U Control: Picture in Picture, and Pocket Blue App.

Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $39.98.
