Two new premium sound bar models have been revealed.
"Denon is known for its best-in-class A/V receivers and Hi-Fi components. We've built-in many of the capabilities found in our award-winning AVRs including 4K support, Dolby and DTS surround sound decoding, multiple digital and analog inputs and wireless music streaming, but with the convenience of a sound bar," said Michael Greco, senior director, Denon brand management. "Most sound bars are designed for TV playback and are often underwhelming when streaming music. Denon's legacy in Hi-Fi ensures these sound bars deliver both an immersive surround sound and amazing two-channel musical listening experience."
Both models feature performance-tuned drivers with Class-D amplification, along with HEOS Built-in connectivity for whole-home audio streaming and voice control via a separate Amazon Echo or Google Home device. In addition, both sound bars include hi-res audio playback capabilities with support for a variety of file formats, including DSD (2.8, 5.6 MHz), FLAC, WAV, ALAC (192/24), MP3, WMA and AAC (USB/Network).
The DHT-S516H model also includes a wireless subwoofer and a low-profile design for easier placement in front of most TVs. Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, and DTS decoding are offered as well. Wired connectivity options include HDMI with Audio Return Channel, Optical digital audio input, and 3.5mm auxiliary input, along with wireless Bluetooth.
Meanwhile, the DHT-S716H is designed to pair with the Denon DSW-1H subwoofer (sold separately), and can also connect with other HEOS speakers in order to create a full 5.1 surround sound system. Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio surround sound decoding are featured as well, along with four HDMI inputs with 4K Ultra HD, HDR, and Dolby Vision pass-through.
