Only days before its scheduled release next week, DVD International has postponed the HD DVD debut of 'Digital Video Essentials' until early December.
Originally announced for release on November 14, the next-gen version of A/V visionary Joe Kane's seminal home theater calibration disc will now hit stores on December 5.
Despite the last-minute delay, no changes are expected to the disc's technical specs. 'Digital Video Essentials' will offer a full range of audio and video test signals for an array of home entertainment set ups. As well as including the original standard DVD version on a combo disc, the HD DVD side includes new test patterns available in both 1080p and 720p. The disc was also produced in conjunction with Microsoft Corp. and authored in the HD DVD format's proprietary HDi environment, allowing for a full range of interactive features.
Retail also remains set at $34.95.
We'll keep you posted if there are any more street date changes, and you can find full details for the title in our HD DVD Release Schedule.
