The NFL stations will be available as options for DISH and Sling TV customers.
DISH and the NFL have announced a new carriage agreement for NFL Network and NFL Redzone. As part of the deal, both channels will now be offered through DISH satellite and Sling TV platforms.
"We are pleased to see NFL Network and NFL RedZone back on DISH," said Hans Schroeder, Senior Vice President, Media Strategy, Business Development & Sales for the NFL. "This has been a thoughtful negotiation that resulted in a great outcome for our fans. DISH is an important distributor of NFL Network and NFL RedZone, and we are excited to expand our distribution to new fans on the fast-growing Sling TV platform."
With NFL Network, football fans can watch Thursday Night Football games, and popular shows like 'NFL GameDay Morning,' 'A Football Life,' and 'Timeline,' along with news and fantasy coverage. Meanwhile, NFL RedZone allows viewers to watch the big moments from NFL games on Sunday afternoons with cuts to major plays from stadium to stadium as they happen. An exact launch date and pricing for the NFL Network and NFL RedZone through Sling TV have not been announced yet, but the channels will be available to Sling TV users starting with the upcoming 2016 season. In addition, DISH and Sling TV subscribers who sign up for the NFL stations will also be able to watch them through Watch NFL Network and the NFL app.
"These networks will give DISH and Sling TV customers the inside look at a favorite American pastime as we approach the NFL season," said Warren Schlichting, DISH's executive vice president of programming.
Sling TV plans currently start at $20 and new users can receive a 7-day free trial. In addition to Sling TV, Sony recently announced the addition of NFL Network and NFL Redzone to its own streaming TV service, PlayStation Vue.
