After arrests were made, sales of knockoff goods dried up.
China is notorious for knockoff products. It’s the country that sells fake iPads, imitation videogame systems, and even features theme parks that infringe heavily on trademarks. Thanks to four arrests made at the end of last year, the market for knockoff audio gear has started to dry up.
The suspects were taken in by the Enping City Public Security Bureau in December of last year. Since then, there has been far less counterfeit audio gear on the streets.
During the arrest, Chinese police seized microphones, speakers, power amplifiers and more. There were 1,200 items in total seized, labeled with brand names like Harman, Sennheiser, Shure and Audio-Technica.
