The King of the Monsters is ready to rip apart Blu-ray, with indie Classic Media announcing a September release for the 1954 classic 'Godzilla.'
Everyone's favorite lovable green guy in a rubber suit, 'Godzilla, King of the Monsters' (aka 'Gojira') is finally ready for his high-def close-up, with newcomer Classic Media setting a September 22 street date for its first-ever Blu-ray release.
Full tech specs are not yet confirmed, though Classic Media says the film has been newly remastered, and will include both the original Japanese version as well as the butchered domestic version (which features an inserted Raymond Burr, amongst other comical changes),
Bonus features include a new audio commentary by Godzilla experts Steve Ryfle and Ed Godziszewski, a pair of featurettes ("The Making of the Godzilla Suit," "Godzilla: Story Development") and theatrical trailers.
Suggested retail price for the Blu-ray has been set at $29.99.
