Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger's explosive 1947 drama about a convent of nuns in the Himalayas is headed for Blu-ray this July.
The Criterion Collection is preparing 'Black Narcissus' starring Deborah Kerr, Flora Robson, and Jean Simmons for a Blu-ray release on July 20.
The Blu-ray release will feature 1080p video, an English LPCM mono soundtrack, and supplements include: Video introduction by French filmmaker Bertrand Tavernier; Audio commentary featuring the late director Michael Powell and filmmaker Martin Scorsese; The Audacious Adventurer, a 2006 video piece in which Tavernier discusses Black Narcissus and Powell; Profile of "Black Narcissus" (2000), a 25-minute documentary; Painting with Light, a twenty-seven-minute documentary about Jack Cardiff's Oscar-winning cinematography on Black Narcissus; Original theatrical trailer; and an a booklet featuring an essay by film critic Kent Jones.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $39.95.
