The complete fourth season of the acclaimed BBC series will hit stores in April. Pre-orders are now live!
In an early announcement to retailers, Warner Brothers/BBC has just revealed 'Call the Midwife: Season Four' for a Blu-ray release on May 20.
Inspired by the memoirs of Jennifer Worth, Call the Midwife follows the nurses, midwives and nuns from Nonnatus House, who visit the expectant mothers of Poplar, providing the poorest women with the best possible care. In Season Four, the community prepares to enter a new decade: the 1960s. In the first episode, Nurse Barbara Gilbert (Charlotte Ritchie) arrives at Nonnatus and, after a disastrous start, earns the respect of her colleagues by helping a new mother overcome difficulties. Trixie (Helen George) faces one of the most emotionally draining cases of her career, and the Turners broker a domestic deal that breaks the mold for the 1950s and 60s. Sister Evangelina (Pam Ferris) finally agrees to undergo tests for her abdominal pain. So hop on a bicycle with Jenny (Jessica Raine), Chummy (Miranda Hart) and Trixie. Wherever they ride, you'll share sadness and joy, tears and humor, struggle and survival.
Specs and supplements have yet to be revealed, but suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $44.98.
