Epson Launches Moverio 3D Video Glasses

Posted Apr 3, 2012 at 09:00 AM PDT by Dick Ward

In addition to the ability to play back video files, they pack Flash 11 Support so you can stream content as well.

The Epson Moverio BT-100 wearable video display boasts the ability to show you content on a virtual 80 inch screen, including side-by-side 3D, and it's the first of these personal media devices to be based on the Android platform.

The Moverio plays back digital video files that can be stored on the 1GB of internal storage or included 4GB microSDHC card – you can expand that to 32GB – but Epson doesn't list what video files are supported by the device. Thanks to Flash 11 support though, you'll find it compatible with a great deal of video streaming websites. It's unclear from the press release whether the Silverlight based Netflix is supported or not.

Epson's personal media device handles 2D as well as 3D content and Dolby Mobile Surround helps to provide the best sound possible.

The Moverio BT-100 is available for preorder on Amazon at a price of $699. The display will be released on April 6th.
